The overall quality of the shield was satisfactory, although quite expensive for a mass-produced product. The engraving was hard to read and, far worse, a common name,' Brian', was misspelt as 'Brain', making the trophy worthless and something of a joke. The spelling was the company's error not mine and an almost unbelievably crass mistake given that producing engraved trophies is main function of the company. What sort of quality control would allow an error of this magnitude to occur? Dont use this company iof your name is Zbriniew or similar. Or John, for that matter.
21.9 JR CEO's response : It is very upsetting when an error occurs and when advised we will always put it right immediately. This shield can easily and happily be corrected. Brain from Brian is clearly a typo with the engraver typing too fast. We do 1000's of engravings per day and whilst it was missed in quality control - they are also checking 1000's per day. 1 in 10000 may slip through ... and clearly here it did and we are very sorry. As you can see the customer mispelt 'if' as 'iof' ... it is easily done. Our staff are humans not machines and in most cases spot customer errors and correct them rather than copying them. Again, the main thing is if anything does ever go wrong, we would put it right straight away, no arguments.
Can I also add that to say it is expensive and call it a 'mass produced' product is ridiculous. Everyone must realise that someone somewhere had to put each mini-shield and scroll, nail by nail, onto this shield. A strut has to be fitted and it has to be wrapped - that's before it gets to us and we have to open them, take them off to engrave them, fix back together and re-pack - all by humans, all who get paid. The truth is we all expect to pay far too little for most things we buy - largely because the West has exploited other countries for so long the public expectation is massive ... G-d help us when India and China have similar standards of living to us ...! (Grumpy Old Man! Sorry to carry on.)
